How You Will Contribute:
You will be responsible for leading the successful growth of the Eastern Pennsylvania region including the Philadelphia Area by identifying opportunities and facilitating solutions.
You will manage your time appropriately between business development, project planning, project execution and team engagement.
Execute our processes effectively and develop plans to provide smart growth for the region. Manage the region’s revenue, profit, and awards. Analyze the regional P&L statements for business planning.
Provide leadership to ensure positive and profitable relationships with all external parties, including clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

As a Leader at Wohlsen you will:
  • You will promote and protect Wohlsen’ s values and vision through your conduct, decision making, and the development and management of your team.
  • You will maintain and grow long-term “Raving Fan” client relationships.
  • Lead all aspects of business development within your region; capacity to lead and present successful proposals and ability to find new, profitable work opportunities.
  • Ensure all operations meet Wohlsen’ s Safety standards; embrace and lead by example.
  • Financially you will negotiate contracts, study the regional P&L statements, be adept at regional budget planning and be aware of regional performance metrics and react accordingly.
  • You will work with the Regional Senior Vice President to grow the region.
  • Responsible for revenue, profit, awards, and backlog annual goals for your region.
  • Manage entire business development effort within your region.
  • Provide general and/or specific construction knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide construction input and knowledge in the development of project plans including the purchasing of trade contracts.
  • Manages formulation, administration, and maintenance of regional goals, both short and long term along with budgets and any other regional objectives identified in the annual VTO.
  • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward goals and objectives; where necessary, see the course corrections are made to assure achievement of annual plan and goals.
  • Ensure the region complies with all Wohlsen financial controls and policies.
  • Working with the VP of Construction to drive project teams to execute all phases of construction (including pre-construction, completive bidding, team selection, construction, commission, and project closeout) in such a way that each client is a raving fan of Wohlsen.
  • Ensure regional office is properly staffed; manage all team members regarding employment, performance ratings, reviews, promotions, salary recommendations, transfers, and terminations. Evaluate and manage performance reviews for your team. Seek out input from others and provide feedback and coaching to manage individuals as well as the team.
  • Develop, implement, and promote a team-oriented environment through positive feedback.
  • Assure that regional team members have professional development opportunities so that they may become candidates for succession in various regional leadership roles.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration or similar  equivalent experience
  • 10-15 years of experience in management role required 15 to 20 years preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Certified
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel including overnight travel.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.
  • Minimum 15 years of construction leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software systems, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements
In a normal day, this position requires 1-4 hours standing and walking.  In a normal day, the team member must be able to sit for 7+ hours.  In a normal day, the team member must be able to drive 1-4 hours. Team member must be able to lift/carry up to 10 lbs. maximum; occasionally carry small objects.  The team member must be able to use his/her upper extremities for reparative simple grasping and fine manipulation.  In this position, team member occasionally (0-33%) must be able to bend at waist, squat the knees, climb (including ladders), reach above shoulders, kneel, crawl, use feet (foot controls), and/or work at heights above 6 feet.
